Forecast Snow Stability: Deposits of unstable windslab will be present in wind-sheltered areas, mainly on South to West aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations gaining depth are not expected to be extensive. The limited old snowpack, lying mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres, will remain icy, very hard and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will initially be strong East-North-Easterly, then North-Easterly and steadily decrease in strength overnight and during the morning to moderate, and light during the afternoon. It will be dry and cold, with the freezing level around 300 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were moderate mainly East-North-Easterly. It was mainly dry and remained cold, with the freezing level rising to around 400 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Some fresh deposits of unstable windslab have been deposited in wind-sheltered areas, mainly on South to West aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations are generally localised and shallow. The limited old snow deposits lying mainly on North to East aspects above 900 metres are icy, very hard and stable. A thin covering of recent snow is present on all aspects and at all levels. The avalanche hazard is Low.
