The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust will soften later than the day before, in particular below approximately 2300 m. In particular at intermediate altitudes only isolated mostly small moist and wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses. This applies in particular in case of a large load, in particular in case of releases originating from extremely steep starting zones. Weak layers exist deeper in the snowpack. Avalanches can in very isolated cases be released in deep layers and reach medium size in isolated cases. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on extremely steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack.
The weather conditions fostered a strengthening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. Towards its surface, the snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling here. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Snow that is superficially very compact and stabilized by the stormy winds of late February or composed of faceted crystals and locally of loosely packed snow. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack here. Towards its surface, the snowpack consists of faceted crystals; its surface consists of faceted crystals. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as at high altitude snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In the last few days hardly any more avalanches were reported.
Gradual decrease in danger of moist and wet avalanches as the temperature drops. In some regions a little new snow to above 1500 m: This snow will be deposited on surface hoar above approximately 2000 m.
