Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will initially remain mainly on North-East through East to South aspects above 900 metres. As the winds increase new unstable windslab will form in wind sheltered locatons mainly on West to North aspects above 900 metres. Greatest accumulations will be on steep slopes, gully tops and coire rims. Other localised aspects will also be affected. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain genrally dry through the forecast period before some light snowfall later in the afternoon. Overnight and during the day steadily strengthening South-Easterly winds are expected to reach gale force during the afternoon. Overnight the freezing level will be around 900 metres, although rising through the day, it will remain cool. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and generally overcast day with some brighter sunny spells. Fresh Westerly winds. The freezing level increased through the day to around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Moderately bonded windslab is present on North-East through East to South aspects above 900 metres. Greatest instability is on steep and convex terrain. Localised areas on other aspects are also affected, mainly North and South-West. Elsewhere there\'s a widespread cover of soft snow and wind exposed slopes are scoured and firm. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
