Forecast Snow Stability: The existing wet snowpack will slowly firm up in the cooler temperatures during the period. It will remain stable, well bonded and continue to consolidate. Small amounts of fresh snow will be deposited above 950 metres, mainly in sheltered South-Easterly locations, but these accumulations will not be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be some light snow above 1000 metres during the morning, light rain below this altitude. It will be drier in the afternoon. The freezing level will drop to around 950 metres overnight and remain there during Thursday. Winds will veer from Westerly to North Westerly and increase to fresh. Observed Weather Influences: Rain in the morning slowly gave way to drier conditions during the afternoon, but it remained cloudy on the tops. The freezing level was well above the summits all day. There was a fresh to strong Southerly wind.

ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally well bonded and stable. Some small, wet surface instabilities are present. The surface layers have become saturated in the wet and warm conditions over the past 24 hours. Greatest snow accumulations remain on North to East aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
