In sintesi

New snow and wind slabs above approximately 2000 m.

Problemi valanghivi

  • New snow

    • Above 2,200 m

Snowpack Structure

Some snow will fall until the early morning over a wide area. Over a wide area 15 to 30 cm of snow fell in the last two days above approximately 2000 m. In some places wind slabs are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack. Individual weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.

Tendency

Slight decrease in avalanche danger as a consequence of the ceasing of precipitation.

Avalanche Activity

New snow and wind slabs above approximately 2000 m.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain above approximately 2000 m and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. The fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming during the snowfall represent the main danger. Only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.
