As a consequence of a moderate to strong wind from westerly directions, wind slabs formed by Friday above approximately 2200 m. Avalanches can be released, mostly by large additional loads. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls above approximately 2600 m and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, especially on very steep slopes. As a consequence of warming and solar radiation a very high danger of moist snow slides will prevail, in particular on extreme sunny slopes, and in steep rocky terrain below approximately 3300 m.

In particular in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 1 (low) a little snow is lying in all altitude zones. The strong wind has transported some snow. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack on very steep southeast, south and southwest facing slopes below approximately 3400 m. As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface at the weekend. Towards its base, the snowpack is largely stable.

The avalanche danger will persist.
