Avalanche Activity

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on wind-loaded slopes of all aspects above approximately 1800 m and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is largely stable. The snowpack is fairly homogeneous; its surface is loosely bonded and consists of surface hoar. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes.
