At the higher elevations some potential may remain for skiers and riders to trigger pockets of slab up to 18 inches deep. These dense slab avalanches are most likely to be triggered in steep cliff areas and terrain features that face east to north where the recent new snow has not fully bonded to the old snow surfaces. Instabilities on that new snow old snow interface may persist due to localized pockets of faceted snow at that interface. These slabs may become more sensitive to human triggers during the warmest portion of the day.
