The backcountry touring conditions are generally favourable.
Early morning: In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. In particular at intermediate altitudes individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses, in particular in case of releases originating from extremely steep starting zones that still retain some snow. Weak layers exist deeper in the snowpack. Avalanches can in very isolated cases be released in deep layers and reach medium size. These avalanche prone locations are to be found especially at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example and in extremely steep terrain.
The weather conditions fostered a strengthening of the snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. Towards its surface, the snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. 2 to 5 cm of snow, but less in some localities, fell on Monday above approximately 1600 m. Up to 15 cm in areas bordering Piedmont, with a quick settling in. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Weak layers exist in the old snowpack. Towards its surface, the snowpack consists of faceted crystals; its surface consists of faceted crystals. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as at high altitude snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
The backcountry and freeriding conditions are quite favourable. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. As a consequence of warming during the day there will be no slight decrease in the danger of moist and wet avalanches in the late morning.
