Mostly favourable conditions with little snow

The avalanche risk is low. In the entrance areas of steep gullies on shady slopes, snow slabs can occasionally be triggered in persistent weak layers. The risk of being swept away and falling on icy surfaces that may be thinly covered with snow and therefore difficult to recognise generally outweighs the risk of burial.

New snow and wind slab have stabilised well. In the higher on shady slopes, there are still weak layers of large faceted crystals in the lower part of the snowpack, especially close to the ground. Low and sunny mid-altitude areas are bare.

Wednesday night will be partly to partly cloudy. On Wednesday, the sun will mostly shine until midday with a moderate southerly wind. During the afternoon, increasingly dense clouds will gather and the mountains will become partly foggy. Rain and snow showers will pass through in the late afternoon and evening. The snowfall level will drop rapidly from 2000 metres to low altitudes. The wind will shift to the west to north-west from midday and pick up until the evening. Before the cold front, 1 to 4 degrees at 2000 metres. With the passage of the front, temperatures will drop to -7 degrees at 2000 metres. During the night to Thursday it will snow heavily in windy conditions.
