The general avalanche hazard is LOW below 10,500 feet. Low hazard does not mean no hazard. Recent snowfall lies upon a stable snowpack. In very steep terrain above 8500 feet backcountry travelers could trigger loose snow sluffs or small shallow soft slabs, particularly in the afternoon as they are rapidly warmed by sunlight and increasing temperatures. Be conscious of run out zones, especially those under steep starting zones above 10,000 feet.

Another weak system is to arrive tomorrow afternoon. Clouds and winds will increase with the chance of shower activity during the afternoon and evening. Mountain winds are to be from the southwest with averages of fifteen to thirty miles per hour and higher gusts. Temperatures are to rise into the low thirties in advance of the potential precipitation. The general avalanche hazard will be Low on Saturday. Low hazard does not mean no hazard exists and although the likelihood of triggering loose avalanche will be lower it could still occur, particularly in steep shaded slopes above 9000 feet.
