A mostly stable snowpack exists and avalanches are unlikely at all elevations this morning. As increasing temperatures and direct sunlight soften the snowpack wet slides may become possible this afternoon in steep avalanche terrain.

Skies will remain mostly clear on Sunday as a ridge of high pressure resides over the region. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the mid teens before rising into the upper 30s during the day. Ridgetop winds will be westerly at 10 to 20 miles per hour.The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to be LOW on Sunday morning and rise to MODERATE later in the day. In the afternoon, warming temperatures and sunshine will bring about the possibility of wet loose sluffs along with a chance of full depth wet slabs. Shallow sluffs and soft slabs avalanches will also become more susceptible to failure in areas east of the divide that received recent snowfall. Backcountry users should plan on early starts and be off of sunlit aspects in the afternoon.
