The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. Along the border with France and along the border with Switzerland 5 to 10 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell on Tuesday above approximately 2200 m. The wind was moderate to strong adjacent to ridgelines. Wind slabs are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls as well as at high altitudes and in the high Alpine regions. They are mostly small and can be released in isolated cases, especially on extremely steep slopes. Above approximately 3000 m these avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and larger. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 2000 m: A little snow is lying on south facing slopes. On Wednesday above approximately 3400 m individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches were reported. The snowpack is not distinctly layered. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals and has faceted crystals on the surface. Below approximately 2000 m: As a consequence of rain a crust formed on the surface. The new snow of Tuesday is lying on a crust on sunny slopes.
