CM for 14/3. Snowpack continue to thaw and consolidate. Dusting of fresh snow on summits. Stability generally good. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight the snowpack will firm up above 900 metres. Through the day it will continue to slowly thaw and consolidate at all levels. Stability will generally be good. There will be a dusting of fresh snow above 1000 metres. These deposits are not expected to be significant. However, some unstable sections of cornice will remain. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A dry night is expected with the freezing level dropping to around 900 metres. During the day it will rise to around 1200 metres. Some light precipitation during the day will fall as wet snow above 1000 metres. Winds will be from the South. Observed Weather Influences: Showers during the day fell as snow above 1000 metres. The freezing level was around 1200 metres. Winds were from the South. ObservedSnowStability: The spring snowpack continues to slowly thaw and consolidate; however, it remains firm on the highest summits. Stability is generally good throughout. There is a dusting of fresh snow at higher levels but this is very shallow. The avalanche hazard is Low.
