Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight thaw conditions will reduce the recent superficial cover of soft snow and start to soften surface layers of the older, well established snow-ice. Minor surface instabilities will be encountered in steep, wind sheltered locations on South-East to South-West aspects above 950 metres. Elsewhere the snow will be generally well bonded and stable. Greatest cover will exist in high North to East facing corries and on the highest plateau areas. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Very light precipitation throughout the forecast period, falling mainly as drizzle, but turning to sleet and then light snow on the highest summits only at the end of the afternoon. The freezing level will be above all summits overnight, eventually lowering to 1050 metres. Gale force Westerly winds overnight, veering North-Westerly and gradually easing through the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry but increasingly cloudy morning with light precipitation arriving by early afternoon. Light snowfall above 850 metres. Fresh North-West, backing Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Localised accumulations of shallow windslab are present in wind sheltered locations on South-East to South-West aspects above 950 metres. These deposits tend to be limited in both depth and distribution, and are mostly avoidable. Elsewhere above 750 metres, there is a thin covering of soft snow lying on either bare ground or well bonded, firm snow-ice. The avalanche hazard is Low.
