TO for 30.01. New windslab developing on NW to NE aspects above 850m by late tomorrow afternoon. Avalanche Hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The depleted and very patchy snowpack will firm up overnight in the cooler temperatures and remain generally stable. By late afternoon as the snow showers arrive, drifting can be expected and new snow will form shallow accumulations on wind sheltered coire rims, ridge flanks and the tops of gullies on North-West to North-East aspects above 850 metres. Much of these new deposits will lay on bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The strong to gale force West-North-West winds will recede in strength to moderate South-Westerly overnight, then gradually increase in strength to become strong to gale force Southerly. It will be a dry night and it will remain dry until well into tomorrow morning. By late morning heavy snow showers are expected for the remainder of the period. The freezing level will be at 500 meters and rise to around 850 meters by tomorrow late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: There was rain showers with perhaps just a hint of snow on the higher summits. Winds were strong to gale force West-North-Westerly. The freezing level was around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is next to no snow with only isolated wet but generally stable small snow patches remaining. The avalanche hazard is Low.
