Cooler temperatures have created a mostly stable snowpack. At the upper elevations west-northwest winds have created isolated pockets of new soft slab 4 to 8 inches deep. These small slabs lie upon hard crusts and could knock over a skier or rider who ventures into cliff areas or the entrances of very steep couloirs. Watch for unstable snow on isolated terrain features.

A fast moving weather system will bring an increase in winds and one to three inches of snow to the mountains beginning in the early morning on Wednesday and continuing through about noon. Snow showers may linger at the higher elevations in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the teens and 20s. Southwest winds will increase to 20 to 25 with gusts to 35 miles per hour. Cold temperatures after an extended thaw with several rain events, has created a stable snowpack. The general avalanche hazard is LOW. Avalanches are unlikely.
