Twelve to twenty inches of new snow in the past two days along with strong westerly and southwesterly wind has formed slabs up to two feet deep. Wind will continue to increase through the day with heavy snowfall occurring, especially this morning. Look for signs of instability including stiffened snow surfaces, shooting cracks, or large pillow/drifts formed. Avalanches are likely in locations where you see those signs. Avalanches could include all of the recent snow and slide quickly on old snow bed surfaces amking escape difficult.
Watch for dry loose and storm slab avalanches on steep terrain over 35°. Avalanches today could involve more snow than you might think and easily push you around or bury you.
