Avalanche Activity

At elevated altitudes a considerable avalanche danger will prevail.

The wind will be strong at times. The wind slabs represent the main danger. They must be evaluated with care and prudence in all aspects. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls, and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Moist avalanches are possible in some localities. Avalanches can in many places be released, even by a single winter sport participant. Backcountry touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.

Snowpack Structure

In all aspects the wind slabs will increase in size additionally. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes. The weather will be cloudy. The weather conditions will give rise to moistening of the snowpack at low and intermediate altitudes.

Tendency

The weather will be mostly sunny.
