The general avalanche hazard will be LOW in the early morning hours and is expected to increase to MODERATE before noon. Todays avalanche problem will be wet slides in steep terrain. Monitor conditions and avoid steep terrain after significant softening of the snow surfaces has occurred. Due to the exceptional snow depths the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center will continue to issue daily avalanche hazard advisories until Sunday morning, April 27.
Wet loose and wet slab avalanches are possible today in steep terrain after snow surfaces soften. These wet slides could be human triggered. In isolated areas these wet slides may have some potential to step down to deeply buried layers of weak faceted snow near the base of the snowpack.
