In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE above 7500 feet and LOW below that elevation. New snow and wind have formed wind slabs in steep terrain. These slabs will be sensitive to riders and skiers today. The chance also exists to trigger older instabilities in the snowpack involving buried weak layers of faceted snow.

    • Sotto il limite del bosco
    Probabilità
    Possible
    Dimensione
    1–2

Strong northwest winds have formed wind slabs that will be sensitive to human triggers with depths to eighteen inches. These slabs will be most sensitive in steep areas where obvious wind loading has occurred.

  • Persistent Slabs

    • Sotto il limite del bosco

    Dimensione

Surface slabs up to two feet in depth could be human triggered in steep, wind loaded avalanche starting zones and have the potential to step down to depths of four feet.
