In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Soft slabs up to two feet deep could be triggered by backcountry travelers on steep, upper elevation slopes that have had recent wind loading. These slides, along with shallow wet loose sluffs, will become more susceptible to failure on sunlit aspects if clear skies prevail in the afternoon. The potential for large loads to trigger full depth avalanches may persist in isolated areas. On Friday, a two foot deep slab avalanche buried and killed three snowmobilers in a steep, southeast facing bowl in the Indian Peak area of the Snake River Range. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victims. Evaluate the snow and terrain carefully and use good travel habits.
