In sintesi

Some potential may persist at the higher elevations for high marking snowmobilers or multiple snowmobiles on the same slope to trigger deep slab avalanches on very steep avalanche prone slopes. Avalanches are unlikely below an elevation of 8,500 feet.

At the higher elevations weak faceted snow persist near the base of the snowpack. Some potential may persist for humans to trigger deep hard slab avalanches up to four feet in depth on this buried weak layer in steep bowls, gullies and basins.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A strong temperature inversion is expected to develop overnight. On Friday skies will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will rise into the 20s in the mountains from overnight lows in the single digits above zero. Winds will be southwesterly at 20 miles per hour.At the upper elevations some potential may remain for humans to trigger slab avalanches one to three feet deep in steep avalanche starting zones and cliff areas. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE at the higher elevations and LOW at the mid and lower elevations.
