Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on sunnier and lower-elevation slopes where warming temperatures will create wet, sloppy surface conditions. Conditions will be generally safer in the morning, but you can expect the size and sensitivity of loose wet sluffs to increase as the day progresses. Make an exit if you see roller balls or saturated surface conditions. Use caution on upper elevation slopes near ridgelines, where you may be able to trigger a slide in a terrain feature with a thicker deposit of recently wind-drifted snow. Consider the consequences of even a small slide in the terrain where you want to travel. Planning for an early start and early exit can reduce your risk.
