New snowfall amounts were less than forecast. The avalanche hazard remains Low with a mostly stable early season snowpack topped with one to two inches of new snow. At higher elevations, a slight chance persists to trigger small pockets of old wind slab to eighteen inches on isolated terrain features or in extreme terrain.

Avalanche Discussion

Fridays weather looks to be clear and cold. Mountain temperatures could start below zero and are expected to have highs in the mid teens. Another day of east winds is forecast with averages of fifteen to twenty miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard will be Low on Friday. Mostly stable snow is prevalent throughout western Wyoming. A slight chance remains to trigger pockets of slab to eighteen inches in isolated terrain features or extreme terrain above 9000 feet.
