At high and mid elevations an inch of new snow will react rapidly to warming but delay the softening of the snowpack. As the day warms, wet loose slides could be easily triggered or run naturally on Southeast to Southwest facing slopes. Pockets of slabs to 14 inches still exist on steep slopes on northerly aspects. At low elevations warmer overnight temperatures have kept the snowpack warm and slides may occur with little warming. Avoid road cuts and slopes that run into terrain traps or gullies.
