In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. New, dense snow has accumulated on colder old snow and soft surface slabs up to two feet deep. Temperatures have increased and will continue to rise. Humans who venture onto steep slopes are likely to trigger shallow loose snow sluffs and could trigger the soft slabs that lie beneath the new snow. If the sun appears it will spontaneously trigger shallow loose snow sluffs on very steep slopes and in cliff areas and increase the potential for humans to trigger slab avalanches.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )The northern edge of the southern storm system will continue to impact the region. Light snowfall is expected to continue overnight and into Thursday morning. Accumulations of several inches are possible especially in the Salt River and Wyoming Ranges. On Thursday temperatures will be in the 20s. Winds are forecast to be five to 10 miles per hour and veer from the south towards the west. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE. Soft surface slabs up to two feet deep exist and could be triggered by the weight of a single person. Likely areas of concern are steep slopes, known avalanche paths, cliff areas, terrain traps, cornices and the steep walls of cirques and basins.
