Avalanche Summary

The most likely spots to trigger a more dangerous avalanche are wind-drifted features on leeward-facing slopes at upper elevations. Previous westerly winds and ample snow have created thick slabs that could entrain enough snow to bury you or take you for a dangerous ride. Drifted snow is commonly found below ridges or the sides of cross-loaded gullies. You can find safer travel on slopes less than about 35 degrees steep.
