Avalanche Activity

The large quantity of fresh snow as well as the wind slabs that are forming especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls represent the main danger.

New snow and wind slabs can be released, even by a single winter sport participant and reach medium size. In addition the danger of slab avalanches will increase as the day progresses.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. In addition the sometimes deep wind slabs in particular in places that are protected from the wind are capable of being triggered in some locations.
