Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs can be released in isolated cases in particular on north facing slopes above the tree line.

Slab avalanches are possible in isolated cases. The avalanche prone locations are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. The wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads,. Small to medium-sized avalanches are possible. There is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a crust that is strong in many cases. Field observations and snow profiles confirm that the stability of the snowpack varies greatly within a small area. Weak layers exist in the snowpack.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
