The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information. As the precipitation becomes more intense the prevalence and size of the avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses. In the afternoon danger level 3 (considerable) will be reached. Wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and at elevated altitudes. These can in some places be released, even by a single winter sport participant. On steep slopes small and medium-sized dry and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow.

The new snow is lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack on steep shady slopes above approximately 1600 m. Faceted weak layers exist deeper in the snowpack on steep shady slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution. Above approximately 1500 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
