TO for 12/1 Windslab NW,N,NE,E above 850m, mainly gullies and coire rims. Cornices developing, stable elsewhere. Moderate hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of moderately bonded windslab will continue to develop in steep, wind sheltered locations, on North-West, through North to East aspects above 850 metres. These instabilities will mainly affect gully tops, coire rims and ridge flanks. Cornices will develop above these aspects. Elsewhere the old snowpack will be well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: After a dry start, showers from late morning will fall as snow above around 800 metres. Winds will be light South-Westerly overnight and moderate South-Easterly during the day. The freezing level will be around 800 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Showers throughout the day were snow above around 700 metres. Winds were strong South-Westerly. The freezing level was around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab are developing in steep wind sheltered locations mainly on North to East aspects above 850 metres. Areas most affected are gullies and coire rims. Elsewhere the old snowpack is well bonded and stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
