TO for 20/3 remaining snow patches firm, icy and stable. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The limited patchy snow cover will be stable throughout. Snow patches will refreeze and become firm and icy in the colder temperatures. Largest areas will remain, on North to East aspects above 850 metres, and largely on mountains away from the coast. There will be many bare slopes, ridges and summits throughout the forecast area. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A dry, cloudy day with light, mainly Northerly, winds. The freezing level will be around 850 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Rain at all levels early this morning cleared to give a dry afternoon. Fresh mainly Westerly winds. The freezing level was above the summits most of the day. ObservedSnowStability: The limited remaining snow continues to thaw and diminish. The snow that remains is patchy old snow, lingering on North to East aspects above 850 metres and largely restricted to mountains away from the coast. There are many bare slopes, ridges and summits throughout the forecast area. The avalanche hazard is Low.
