Avalanche Activity

Increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches as a consequence of the precipitation. New snow above approximately 2000 m.

As a consequence of the precipitation, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase gradually at intermediate and high altitudes. Small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches are possible in particular in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. Natural avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

The rain will give rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack below approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of snowfall and the strong southwesterly wind, fresh snow drift accumulations will form. The new snow and wind slabs are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack. In particular on south facing slopes a little snow is lying.

Tendency

A lot of snow will fall in some regions.
