Much the same as yesterday, with danger level at low for Douglas. Conditions are generally unreactive as wind transport has slowed but still keep an eye out for older touchy wind slabs. Solar warming was happening yesterday on South facing aspects with sun crusts forming on the snow surface and small amounts of wet loose activity observed. There are still a lot of early season hazards to watch out for like open creeks, exposed stumps, alder and devils club especially on the lower elevation exits.

Wind slab is again the main avalanche problem but pockets remain isolated and are gaining strength over time, no active wind loading was happening on Douglas yesterday. So these are older wind slabs to keep an eye on.
Beginning to feel a little like groundhogs day with cold dry weather dominating. If winds stay light and the clouds move out we could see some warming on South aspects with wet loose activity on steeper terrain, these usually present themselves starting at a point and fanning out in an upside down v entraining more snow as they move. As we move into next week and remain hopeful for our next snowfall it's important to remember that we now have a wide range of snow surfaces that new snow will sit on like wind slab, sun crusts, wind scoured, and surface hoar. Within the snowpack there is a strong temperature gradient promoting faceting or sugary snow. No concerns as of now but something to keep an eye on and think about as we move through our season and do our snow dances hoping for more snow soon!
