In sintesi

Colder temperatures, increased cloud cover, and strong winds will limit wet snow avalanche concerns for today.  In areas that receive more sun than expected, small wet snow instabilities could form.  Avalanche activity is unlikely today, expect variable snow surface conditions depending on location.

    Colder temperatures with increasing clouds and winds will limit daytime warming and wet snow development today.  A good overnight refreeze occurred with all remote sensors above 7000’ showing well below freezing temperatures.  Many slopes will remain firm all day with limited softening and could pose some travel concerns.  Areas that receive more sun than expected could develop some wet snow instabilities as daytime warming occurs.  Any wet snow instabilities that form today are expected to be small in size and cause limited issues for backcountry users.

    Plan on changing snow surface conditions from previous days.  Firm snow surfaces will exist in many areas this morning with some softening as daytime warming occurs.    

Avalanche Discussion

Light blowing snow could occur in areas that received up to an inch of snow overnight with some additional light snow possible for today.  This limited amount of new snow will not be enough to cause wind slab development.
