Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will thaw and consolidate throughout the forecast period. Stability will be generally good. Remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Very mild with rain at all levels. Very strong South-Westerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: After a dry clear start, showers developed and turned to rain at all levels. The freezing level rose above the summits. Strong South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of instability are present in recent snow accumulations. Areas affected are gully tops and coire rims on North-East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. Cornices are prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
