Forecast Snow Stability: The existing sparse and very patchy snowpack which is mainly above 700 metres will soften at first but then firm up during the night as the freezing level lowers. There will be some light snow on the summits with some very shallow drifting snow depositing on to wind sheltered North-East to South-East aspects above 700 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be strong South-West this evening, veering and weakening to become fresh North-West overnight then becoming strong Westerly tomorrow. Some light intermittent mainly rain showers overnight with the chance of some brief light snow showers on the tops. The freezing level will rise from 850 metres to around the summits at first then lower in the early hours to around 500 metres. It will then gradually begin rise to around 900 metres during the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a generally dry day with only some brief and very light drizzle. Winds were fresh South-Westerly with mist on the summits for much of the time. The freezing level was around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: At all levels the remaining patchy snowpack is well bonded and stable. Above 700 meters any remaining ribbons and patches of snow have a firm surface layer. The avalanche hazard is Low.
