Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will continue to develop overnight and during the day becoming more widespread and deeper on Northerly to Easterly aspects above 850 metres. Coire rims, headwalls and gullies especially affected. Cornices will also build above same aspects with collapse possible. Below 850m and elsewhere new snow will mostly lie on bare ground and be stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds gale force South-Westerly overnight veering West-South-West during the day but remaining strong. Persistent snow fall throughout the forecast period above 200m overnight then above 500m or so as the freezing level rises slightly. Observed Weather Influences: Heavy precipitation overnight and during the morning mostly falling as rain then sleet and snow at summit levels. Gradually turning to snow with heavy showers late morning, then down to 600m or so early afternoon as the freezing level dropped. Winds gale force South-Westerly. ObservedSnowStability: There is a dusting of new snow on most aspects above 600m. Above 900m on Northerly to Easterly aspects new shallow accumulations of snow were mostly moist and stable at the time of observation. However windslab continues to develop becoming deeper and more widespread especially in wind sheltered locations with coire rims and gully tops most affected. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
