Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will be well bonded, very firm and stable. Any new snow deposits are not expected to be significant. The snow cover is patchy in places however significant areas will remain in some corries, gullies and around some summits. These areas will be very firm and mostly exist on North through East to South-East aspects above around 750 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A ridge of high pressure will bring mostly dry, cold conditions with moderate South-Westerly winds. A few light showers possible overnight falling as snow above around 500 metres. The freezing level will be around 500 metres rising slightly thorugh the day. Observed Weather Influences: A mainly dry day with moderate North-Westerly winds. The freezing level fell to around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable. Snow cover is patchy in places with some significant areas remaining in corries, gullies and around summits above around 750 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
