In sintesi

Generally stable conditions exist, and large avalanches are unlikely. Expect to find small pockets of fresh wind slabs 2-4 inches deep by the end of today. Continue practicing safe travel habits: make a plan for the day, carry the right gear, and communicate with your group.

Avalanche Discussion

New snow today will not increase avalanche danger much, especially the northern portion of our advisory area. 2-3 inches of new snow with light to moderate winds could form small wind slabs at upper elevations near ridgelines on top of weak snow/facets that have formed on the surface and within the upper snowpack. The snowpack is generally stable, and people are exploring steep, alpine terrain. It's easy to get sloppy—so don't. Continue to minimize your group's exposure to potential avalanche hazards, ideally traveling one at a time through steep terrain.
