In sintesi

The snowpack is stable and avalanche activity is unlikely. Since Friday evening, one to four inches of light density snow has fallen in the Tetons. Below the new snow are a variety of melt-freeze crusts. On solar aspects where crusts are smooth and slick, the new snow could easily sluff off the slope. Challenging travel conditions exist in the mountains, so choose your route wisely.

Avalanche Discussion

Temperatures will rise to the teens. Wind will shift west and increase but only up to around 15 mph. Expect generally safe avalanche conditions with the exception of small wind slabs along ridgetops at high elevations, primarily in Greys and possibly to the Tetons. Sluffing in steep terrain in those zones which received the most recent snowfall may also be an issue. The melt freeze crusts under the recent snow will continue to create difficulties whether riding or skiing and will increase the hazard if you were to trigger even a small wind slab. The combination of slick and hard crusts under shallow new snow makes lower angled terrain or possibly high northerly aspects a better choice for tomorrow.
