SC.15.01.22 Snow will continue to slowly thaw but will be generally well bonded. Greatest amounts N to E asp. abv. 900m Hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The remaining snow will continue to slowly thaw but will be generally well bonded and stable on all aspects. Largest areas of snow will be found in North to East facing corries above 900 metres. Falling rock and ice from steep terrain will remain a hazard during prolonged thaw conditions. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: A cloudy but dry day is expected. The freezing level will initially be over the summits but it will drop to around the summits by the end of the afternoon. Winds, strengthening from the South-West to become moderate in strength. Observed Weather Influences: A dull start to the day but the hills were generally cloud free by early afternoon. Freezing levels remain above the summits. Winds were negligible. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snow cover is thawing at all levels with the majority of remaining snow now soft but well consolidated. There is little snow below 900 metres with largest patches found above this level in North to Easterly facing corries. The avalanche hazard is Low.
