Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to thaw at lower levels. Above 600 metres there will be a slight firming of the existing snowpack as the freezing level lowers. There will be the chance of some shallow windslab deposits forming on wind sheltered terrain above 850 metres on North-East to South-East aspects. These isolated deposits will be shallow and avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: The strong West-South-West wind will continue overnight reducing in strength to become fresh South-West by the morning. There will be some light snow showers this evening then dry for the remainder of the period. The freezing level will be around 600 metres rising gradually to around 850 metres tomorrow. Observed Weather Influences: There were gale strength South-West winds first thing this morning becoming strong West-South-West later. There were scattered blustery showers falling as rain at all levels. The freezing level was around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has softened as it continues to thaw and is generally well bonded and stable. Best cover is above 500 metres on North-West through East to South-East aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
