Forecast Snow Stability: The surface layers of the snowpack will slowly start to refreeze, becoming firm, well bonded and stable. Localised areas of windslab will start to form in wind sheltered locations on mainly North-West through North to East aspects above 800 metres. Initially, new accumulations will be shallow, but will achieve depth by the end of the period. This windslab will be moderately to poorly bonded in the steepest locations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light snowfall overnight above 850 metres, followed by a dry morning. Further light snowfall during Sunday afternoon above 650 metres. Fresh Southerly winds overnight, increasing to become strong South-South-Westerlies throughout the day. 900 metre freezing level overnight, lowering to 700 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Occasional showers falling as wet snow above 750 metres. Moderate to strong, generally Southerly or South-Westerly winds. Freezing level around 1000 metres at midday. ObservedSnowStability: Wet, patchy snow below 800 metres, slowly firming up above this altitude. Generally well bonded and stable on all aspects. Greatest cover is encountered above 900 metres, especially in wind sheltered features. The avalanche hazard is Low.
