Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy old snow will be well bonded and stable with icy surface layers in places. Only small patches will be encountered below 900 metres. More extensive areas will be found above this altitude. North and East facing corries will hold deepest amounts. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: No precipitation has been forecast. Moderate South-South-Westerly winds overnight, becoming fresh South-Westerly during the afternoon. Negative air temperatures overnight at 930 metres, reaching plus one degree centigrade by mid-afternoon. Highest summits will stay marginally below zero degrees. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with cloud free summits. Freezing level over the tops but with a band of sub-zero air below summit level. Winds were fresh South-Westerly. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy old snow has refrozen and is well bonded, firm and icy. Small patches below 900 metres but more extensive areas above this altitude. North and East facing corries holding deepest accumulations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
