In sintesi

Backcountry conditions are generally safe. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely.

Avalanche Discussion

Skies will continue to be mostly clear as an arctic air mass remains entrenched over the region. At elevation temperatures will slowly moderate with overnight lows near 15 below and daytime highs rising towards the lower teens above zero. In the valleys temperatures will drop to minus 35 overnight and only rise to near zero during the day. Winds along the highest ridge lines will be northerly at about ten miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW at elevations. The snowpack is mostly stable. Avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets. Skies or riders who venture into very steep couloirs and cliff areas could trigger a shallow hard slab six to ten inches deep.
