Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on weak snow buried a few feet below the snow surface on northwest through north to east-facing slopes. The most dangerous slopes are shallow, uneven slopes such as a rocky, convex rollover or a slope that avalanched earlier this season. If you choose to travel near steep slopes on aspects of concern, stick to smooth, planar slopes and avoid terrain traps such as a creek, a lake, or a gully below you.
