Avalanche Summary

Watch for small slabs of drifted snow on easterly slopes at the highest elevations. With thin cover throughout the zone, these alpine easterly slopes are the only ones with enough of a slab to trigger an avalanche. Shooting cracks and harder-feeling snow than sheltered areas are indications you have stumbled on one of these more dangerous spots.
