Pockets of dense wind slab one to two feet in depth formed by southwest winds exist at the upper elevations and in isolated areas at the mid elevations. Yesterday skiers triggered surface slabs in steep terrain on southeast through northeast aspects. Similar events are likely today especially as temperatures warm and these slabs become more sensitive to human triggers. Rising temperatures will also increase the potential for point slides and sunballs to occur on steep sunlit aspects. Mostly stable snow exists at the lower elevations.
